David Glenn Collins Jr. Age 34, of Indianapolis, died Monday, July 18, 2005 in his residence. He was born October 17, 1970 in Ancon, Panama to David Glenn Collins, Sr. and Norma Jean Collins. He was a 1989 graduate of Warren Central High School. The winner of the Kiwanis Abe Lincoln Academic Scholarship which he used to attend Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis where he studied mechanical engineering technology and earned a degree from Purdue University. He interned for four summers during college for then governor Evan Bayh at the Indiana Department of Transportation. He then became a web-site designer later in life. He also volunteered for a time at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. David loved the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Cincinnati Reds, Indiana Hoosiers, #24, Jeff Gordon, his computer, movies, sunny days, famous quotes, his country, causing trouble, the ladies and his family and friends, not necessarily in that order. His favorite quote was "I am ready to meet my maker, but whether my maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." ~ Sir Winston Churchhill. His heroes were his grandfathers, Richard Glenn Collins and Buford Rubin Whitlow, the two strongest men he ever knew. Survivors include his mom, Norma Jean Collins of Indianapolis; paternal grandmother, Lorma Jean Collins of Muncie; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his father, David Glenn Collins, Sr. of Muncie; brother, Arthur Jeffery Collins of Indianapolis; paternal grandfather, Richard Glenn Collins of Muncie; maternal grandfather, Buford Rubin Whitlow of Edmonton, KY; maternal grandmother, Naomi Whitlow of Edmonton, KY; several aunts, uncles cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Wheeler Mission Ministries, 245 North Delaware Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204, Phone: (317) 635-3575. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 East Washington, St.

David was a super nice guy. I remember his smile and his mullet ;) Ahhh... the 80's. Rest in peace David...

David always had a smile and you never met a nicer guy. He will be missed dearly by many.
